Christmas Checklist For Busy Moms

Your FREE PRINTABLE Christmas Checklist for busy moms!

Christmas is THE BUSIEST time of the year. It’s magical, wonderful, yet also overwhelming. You are probably OZ behind the curtain, making all the plans come together, the memories, the fun crafts and cookies, the joy, all of it. You need a Christmas Checklist to manage it all, friend!

Not saying we don’t have help, but most of the creativity probably comes from you. If your planner looks like mine, you will have Christmas parties and events, Tree Lightings, Viewing of Christmas lights ( a favorite tradition of mine), family and friends visiting, etc. And that’s just what is written down on paper.

There are shopping days to think about, sales events, planning ahead if you do Elf on the Shelf, or 24 Days of Christmas Stories, Advent Calendars, oh wait, did I run out of tape while I was wrapping those gifts? Yep. SURE DID. Another trip to the store.

I want you to be better prepared. And to be prepared, you need a plan. I created a “map” of all the things I can think of that I have struggled with and forgotten to do, and made a Christmas Checklist for you. You can use it as it fits best for your schedule.

I would highly recommend getting some planning done over Thanksgiving Weekend to better set yourself up when it’s crunch time!

Helpful Christmas Planning Tips From the Christmas Checklist:

  • Write your Christmas Card List Out and REUSE it every year!
  • Buy Stamps
  • Make a Christmas Gift List in your Notes App in your phone. I will randomly think of ideas all year long, and I go and write them in my Notes App, and then I reference that when I am making my list.
  • Bake your Christmas cookies ahead when you are not busy! I have found most cookies thaw just fine when I need them in a pinch. I have spent at least 3 Christmas Eve’s baking the entire day, so this hack truly saved me!
  • Have a gift wrapping date night with your partner. BEFORE Christmas Eve!
  • Plan your Elf on the Shelf ideas ahead of time. I use what I have lying around, and Pinterest truly saved me when I decided to start that tradition on a whim. I keep all the supplies in a shoebox!
  • Simple and fun traditions are the easiest to replicate. Hot cocoa, Christmas Music, and drive around and look at lights. Easy, and no stress.
  • Always buy an extra gift just in case you need it in a pinch. It’s better to have something you can pull out in case you have extra people coming over at the last minute.
  • If you always make the same dish every year, then go ahead and plan to make it again this year! Buy the ingredients you need for it, and take that task off the host of the dinner party.

Planning Ahead for Christmas to Reduce Burnout

You don’t have to survive Christmas. I have spent quite a few holidays feeling exactly like that. I can’t WAIT to be done with all this stress! Christmas is magical, and I want you to feel some of that magic, not be burnt out and overwhelmed because of it.

I hope this helps you plan an amazing and unforgettable Christmas Season!!

Sharing is caring, so send this over to a mama who needs a little Christmas mind map!
