Hi, I’m Alicia Ortman, and I’m your host of The Alicia Ortman Podcast!

Feeling Disconnected in a Digital World The Alicia Ortman Podcast

Let's talk about why it’s possible to be “connected” online all day and still feel lonely, unseen, and hungry for real community. I share what digital life can’t replace and give three concrete steps to create deeper in-person relationships with more honesty and presence. • what we miss about real-life connection, like energy, nuance, eye contact, and belonging • how social media creates the illusion of being known • why refreshing stories and chasing likes points to a deeper need to be seen • isolation stories that grow when we assume everyone is too busy • comparison traps that widen the gap in life and business • overthinking cycles that shrink when we share with another person • why work from home can intensify loneliness and slow clarity • three action steps: audit your calendar, choose depth, practice presence • creating spaces for deeper conversation, including a personal growth book circle Reflect: Where in your life are you craving deeper connection, but waiting for someone else to create it?Choose depth and connection with Book Circles here. Say hello on FB.I hope you loved this episode! The Alicia Ortman Podcast

For the woman who looks fine on the outside, but knows there’s more going on underneath.

How are you, beyond “I’m fine?

Not the answer you give when someone asks in passing.

Not how the kids are doing.
Not how work is going.
Not whether you’re keeping up with everything on your calendar.

How are you doing underneath all of it?

The Alicia Ortman Podcast is a space for honest conversations about self-discovery, intentional living, personal growth, and the things women quietly carry while continuing to show up for everyone and everything around them.

Because sometimes you don’t need another productivity hack or five-step plan.

You need a question that makes you stop long enough to tell yourself the truth.

This podcast is about what’s underneath the goal.

I’ve always believed that it’s never really about the goal.

It’s about who you become in pursuit of it.

And lately, I’ve become even more interested in the woman underneath all those goals, responsibilities, expectations, and roles.

  • What does she want?
  • What is she tired of carrying?
  • Where has she outgrown the way she’s been living?
  • What feels off, even when she can’t quite explain why?
  • What does she need more of?
  • What does she need to finally put down?
  • And who is she becoming now?

Those are the conversations we’re having here.

Why should you listen?

Because you probably already consume enough information.

This podcast isn’t here to give you more things to do.

It’s here to give you space to think.

Each episode will invite you to slow down, get curious about yourself, and look underneath the surface of your life.

We’ll talk about things like:

  • The invisible weight women carry
  • Identity and who you are outside of your roles
  • Boundaries and expectations
  • Friendship, connection, and isolation
  • Capacity and honoring the season you’re actually in
  • Knowing when something is no longer aligned
  • Confidence, courage, and fear
  • Habits and the ways we live on autopilot
  • Goals, growth, and the person you’re becoming
  • Creating a life that actually feels like yours

Some episodes will teach.

Some will tell stories.

Some will feel like sitting across the table from a friend having the conversation you didn’t realize you needed.

And many will leave you with a question.

Not because I have all the answers for your life, but because I want to help you ask better questions of yourself.

This podcast is for you if…

You’re ambitious, capable, and used to figuring things out.

You’re probably the person other people count on.

Your life may even look pretty good from the outside.

But underneath it, something has been tugging at you.

Maybe you feel disconnected from yourself.

Maybe you’re craving deeper friendships and conversations.

Maybe you’re tired of living according to everyone else’s expectations.

Maybe you’re in a new season and the old version of you doesn’t quite fit anymore.

Or maybe you can’t name what’s wrong at all.

You just know something feels off.

Come here.

We can get curious about it together.

Before you listen to another episode, ask yourself a few questions.

Sometimes the hardest part isn’t changing your life.

It’s naming what’s actually going on.

I created a simple 5https://heygoalsister.myflodesk.com/5questions-Question Checklist to help you slow down, check in with yourself, and start putting words to what you may have been quietly carrying.

These aren’t questions you need to answer perfectly.

They’re questions designed to make you notice.

Because awareness comes first.

And once you can name what’s really going on, you can start deciding what you want to do about it.
